About the Archival IUCRC Evaluation Project

This is the archival website for the National Science Foundation (NSF)-sponsored Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers (I/UCRC) Program Evaluation Project at NC State University.

NCSU managed the national evaluation of the NSF IUCRC program from 1986 to 2021. On this page, you will find guidelines, tools, reports, and other resources used or created during that time frame.

Beginning in 2021, the national IUCRC Evaluation has been managed by VentureWell. Please see their website for current information about the IUCRC evaluation.

You may also access information about the IUCRC program at the NSF IUCRC webpage.

While these materials are intended for use by NSF IUCRC evaluators, we have not copyrighted our questionnaires and welcome others to use them. However, we would appreciate you contacting us if you choose to do so. Please contact Dr. Lindsey McGowen if you need clarification on anything contained on this website.

The Goals of the IUCRC Evaluation Project are:

Primary

1) To help NSF and local centers objectively evaluate their impact by documenting IUCRC outcomes and accomplishments

2) To promote continuous improvement by giving actionable, timely, data-based (formally collected and observational) feedback, analysis and advice to NSF and local centers;

3)To identify and communicate information about IUCRC best practices to NSF and local centers;

Secondary

4) To help promote a better understanding of industry-university-government research cooperation.

For more information on the evaluation activities, please see the IUCRC Evaluation Primer.
